Crimes are punishable by 3 to 15 years of imprisonment.
A complex investigation established that the defendants - members of the "Thieves' World" and supporters of the activities of the "Thieves' World" actively participated in various criminal activities.
Based on citizens' appeals, they contacted Georgian "legal thieves" abroad in order to settle financial disputes between disputing parties, to consider disputed issues in accordance with "thief rules" and to resolve them in their favor. They organized theft trials, and then they personally controlled the execution of the decisions of "thieves in law" and forced one of the disputing parties to deliver the disputed amount.
With the participation of the defendants and disputing parties, the so-called Thief trials, in which "thieves in law" abroad - Tengiz Khoferia (nickname "Chinka"), Davit Kurasbediani (nickname "Chuta"), Roman Barbakadze (nickname "Remena"), Merab Cheishvili (nickname "Zhorzhikich") and Jeyran Kintsurashvili participated.
As a result of the search, police seized as evidence the computer equipment and mobile phones of the defendants, through which they communicated with each other and with the "legal thieves" abroad.
